Soaring above Paris is a dream within your reach!

Soaring above Paris is a dream within your reach!

As I was searching for unique panoramic views of the City of Light, I discovered the fabulous adventure that is the Ballon Generali. Based in Parc André Citroën since 1999, this privately owned hot air balloon can take you up into the sky to an altitude of 150 metres. Each year, its basket carries close to 60,000 passengers as they enjoy a fabulous view of Paris with a sense of weightlessness.

The history behind this aerial amenity, which operates like an aircraft, is a remarkable one. In fact, its mission is to combine tourism with environmentalism. The balloon offers family outings in the air over Paris in the least polluting way possible. 75 such balloons are in place around the world today. Since 2008, a partnership with Airparif has been raising awareness about air quality issues.

The Ballon Generali flies daily, weather permitting. Expect to pay €12 for adults, €10 for adolescents ages 12 to 17 and €6 for children ages 3 to 11.
